To start our festivities we toured some sites in the city on the 31st.
First stop, Old Ironsides. The USS Constitution. It is really interesting, fun, and free! :) There is a little museum right before you go out to see the boat, and then you can wander all over the ship just exploring. They have things set up like hammocks, little cabins the captain and other shipmates slept in, tools and supplies, a little kitchen etc. There are three levels you can climb up and down to explore. It is going on my little list of things to take people to when they visit. Especially if they have kids, boys or girls. It is just a fun place to explore.
Next we hit up the Bunker Hill Monument. The stairs to climb up were closed that day for construction (bummer) so we didn't get to go up, but we are planning on going back to check out the views from the top.

That night was really chill. We just made some yummies (I have no idea why that word just popped up there. I must be practicing to me a mom or something ;) and called our families. We skyped mine so were able to see them and join in on their party which was fun :)
We also played some fun games that we got for Christmas.
We take phase ten dice seriously around here....

As you probably can't tell from this photo, Job was winning by a lot. :) |
At the last minute (actually at 11:45pm) we decided on a whim to go see fireworks downtown. We had previously talked about just staying home, but we were feeling adventurous so hightailed it to the common to catch some action.
There was lots of action. We saw a few fireworks, a lot of crazy people, some stumbling individuals, and a ton of traffic. So we didn't stay downtown too long, it just was too hectic. But I am glad we made it out for at least a few minutes :)
We also made some resolutions/goals/aspirations/desires that I will post here soon. I find that when I look back on my goals frequently I am more apt to actually complete them.
Happy New Year! :) (only 18 days late....)
