Library List

Commiserate with me, won't you?

The Help
By Stockett, Kathryn (Book - 2009)
Position: 169 on 221 copies
Status: Not ready for pickup

Bossypants
By Fey, Tina (Book - 2011)
Position: 222 on 96 copies
Status: Not ready for pickup

What are the chances I'll see these books soon? ;)

Good thing there are plenty of other great books to read in the meantime! I just finished the plays Pygmalion and Major Barbara, both by George Bernard Shaw, and enjoyed giggling on the subway as I commuted to work.

Come on now, I need a new book (since my current picks are not exactly in the near future ;). What are your suggestions?

  1. Oooh I LOVED The Help! Dying to see the movie... never heard of bossypants though? I will have to look in to that one.

  2. Depends on what genre you want. I would recommend Firelight, the Host and Iron King in the sci-fi/fantasy dept. And since you already are going to read the help I would recommend The Book Thief and Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society in the historical fiction dept. I hear that My Sisters Keeper is really good but I never read it.

  3. The Help was soo good! I also just went and saw the movie which was also really good and followed the book well. I also recommend the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. I just finished reading the Alchemist and Room and both those were pretty good.

  4. Harry Potter, Harry Potter! ;) I really like the Shopaholic series by Sophie Kinsella...they are light reads and really funny. I also really liked The Friday Night Knitting Club.

  5. Annoying. I wanted to buy The Help last night at Target, it was $10! Kyle was all, ' Just check it out at the library!'. What does he even know? Nothing!

  7. Get a nook, download the books for free and read them any time you like. :)

  8. I have read both of those books, but Bossypants might be one of my favorite books of all time because Tina Fey is 1) my idol and 2) hilarous (see reason number 1). If you're ever back in Utah you can totes borrow it.
