Mexico Part 4. Chichen Itza, Cenote, Valladolid, Cancun.

One really cool trip we took was to Yucatán to see a wonder of the world! Chichen Itza was really amazing, and most amazing was hearing the history behind it (or at least the educated guesses) and what went on there. On the way there we drove through some really interesting Mayan villages, learned some Mayan (which is closer to English than Spanish, and thus easier to learn), and swam in a cenote. The cenote was a highlight for me, I really wanted to be able to do that while we were there. It was beautiful and a cool experience. The cold water was a shock after the warm water of the Mexican Atlantic ocean.

This was an awesome outdoor restaurant near Cancun we went to on another day. It was one where you go to the back, pick our your fish that was caught that morning, and then they cook it right up. I also ate a mixed ceviche for the first time which included lots of interesting sea animals, one of which being snails which I have never tried. It was really tasty, honest.

We hit some of the fancy malls around Cancun,
and then the sun set :)
